Snowed under their own problems, Ukrainians are standing up for Chinese people’s rights
Tomorrow the Olympic Games will start in Beijing, the capital of China. Chinese government did their best to carry out the Olympiad – 2008 in the best way. The participants and the fans have already arrived in the sporting Mecca.Ukraine was not an exception. At the current moment, there is no evidence that Chinese officials really persecute those who don’t agree with their regime. Yet, it is a known fact, fixed in the documents, that Falun Gongmembers organized self-immolation acts in the center of Beijing under their Leaders’ influence and are getting ready for the competitions. The things seem to be almost idyllic. In case you don’t mention the fact that some months before the beginning of the Olympiad, members of Falun Gong- the Chinese anti-communist movement, started collecting the signatures in order to stop the repressions that the government is practicing against Falun Gong activists.
there are about one thousand of Ukrainian followers of the Chinese movement call their organization”Falun Dafa”. The residents of Dnepropetrovsk will remember the “Chinese rights advocates” mostly for detestable protest action.they organized in Lazar Globa Central Park. “Falun Dafa” activists imitated organ extraction, implying that Communist Party of China practices tortures towards “the dissidents” right in front of people, who were passing by (and children too!). According to the words of Yan Shchekaturov, the head of Dnepropetrovsk city center for the help of the victims of destructive cults, public made active complaints and wanted the local authorities to prohibit such asocial actions on the territory of the children’s park.
- because of the citizens’ appeals our center initiated the experts’ estimate of “Falun Dafa’s” actions, - Yan Shchekaturov tells. According to the analysis, made by doctor of state administration and sociology, associate professor N. A. Lipovskaya, one can come to a conclusion that the public demonstration of imitations of tortures held by “Falun Dafa System” public organization creates a significant social-psychological problem and is an inadmissible intervention into the people’s private life which may cause psychological disorders.
One more interesting moment: “Falun Dafa” is registered as a public organization in our country, while it’s clear that it has religious doctrine in its basis and its activity has the actions which can be considered as the religious practice. Even the very fact that Falun Gong members call themselves the disciples and Li Honghi, the founder of the movement, the Teacher, can demonstrate the real essence of the “public organization”. By the way, the Teacher gave his disciples unambiguous instructions: “If you are able to neglect your life and death, you are the God, and if you aren’t, you are a human being”. The Chinese papers say that there were plenty of those who wanted to become more than a human under Falun Gong doctrine’s influence in Chinese People’s Republic. The journalists told about the horrible accident that took place in 1998. Gao Enchen, adept in this teaching told everyone that he has “reached the highest level of perfection” and jumped from the third floor holding his little son in his arms. The father died immediately and it was very hard to save the boy.
Luckily, Falun Gong hasn’t reached (and is not likely to reach) such a large scale as it did in China. Yet, frankly speaking, we have enough other “destructive sects”, which may influence harmfully on the people’s mind. The best bade for them is the people’s bewilderment and fear of the future that people wish to deaden.

P.S. according to the statute of Dnepropetrovsk public organization “Falun Dafa System”, any person over 14 may become a member of it. Take care of your children, find them something to do according to their interests so that no strange “uncles and aunts” affect the immature teenager’s mind.
